Before accepting this job, O’Neill was the Youth and Community Outreach Librarian for the Boston Public Library at Copley Square, Boston and was the former Children’s Librarian at the South Boston Branch of the Boston Public Library.
“I’m really excited,” O’Neill, said of her recent appointment as head librarian of the Elizabeth Taber Library.
O’Neill, a native of Guilford, Conn., said she applied for the Elizabeth Taber Library head librarian job because she enjoys the community feel that small town libraries can offer.
“Guilford is bigger than Marion, but it has that small town feel. I’m used to that environment and I really wanted to get back to that, where everyone knows each other. I really wanted to have that again,” O’Neill said.
After earning her undergraduate degree from the University of South Carolina, O’Neill returned to her hometown and took a job at Yale University Library. She loved the environment of learning, research and organization. > Read More about Elisabeth O’Neill in the continuation of this article from the Sentinel.
