The Elizabeth Taber Library is looking for a qualified candidate to serve in the position of Full Time (35 hours a week) Children's Librarian.
Under the direction and management of the Director, the Children’s Librarian engages in all facets of library services, policies and procedures, and provides all patron-based services. These responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Must maintain knowledge of children’s technology and programming developments through continuing professional development and education. Must be committed to providing high level of public service and maintaining a friendly, welcoming, and safe atmosphere for all patrons.
Library staff is evaluated on their performance yearly by the Library Director.
Qualifications include:
- M.L.S. from an ALA-accredited library school, with coursework in children’s services, prefered, relevent experience will be considered as an acceptable alternative
-one year of experience providing direct services to children in a public library or related environment strongly preferred
Schedule includes:
Full-time schedule of 35 hours per week, to include occasional Saturdays and evening hours related to children’s and young adult programming, or as schedule demands.
Yearly performance evaluations are performed by the Director.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work in assigned area, including office areas, training rooms and library locations, as needed. Normal office exposure to noise, stress, and interruptions.
